Recipe by David and Marilyn

How to make my favourite food?
My favourite food is lu sipi. It is a Tongan food made out of taro leaves with some meat, chopped onions and coconut cream wrapped it with aluminium foil.

Ingredients:
lu (talo leaves).
sipi (lamb)
coconut cream.
salt
onions

Equipment:
1 sharp knife
chopping board
aluminium foil
stove oven/umu
1 medium-size pot

Method: How do make the delicious lu?

1.  Chop the sipi into small
2. Put it in a medium pot and add on one cup of water.
3. Turn the stove on high then put the pot with the chopped sipi in it and add on one cup of water and let it cook for about 20 minutes then take it out.
4. Pluck the lu from the talo plant.
5. Clean the lu with water.
6. Cut the aluminium foil into a rectangular form of about 120cms.
7. Cut two large onions into small cubes.
8. Lay the lu one at a time nicely on top of each leaf so it can hold the coconut cream and the meat.
9. Grab two spoonfuls of sipi put it on the small pile of lu.
10. Add a small handful of the chopped onions on top of the meat.
11. Hold up the pile of lu and pour in one cup of coconut cream.
12. Wrap it up neatly and tight with the foil.
13. Put it in the umu or oven and cooked it for one or two hours until the food is cooked properly.
