Ko e ngoue talo 'a Sione fa'u 'e Anthony
The teacher reads the story in Tongan. I enjoyed it because I am familiar with most of the Tongan words. I like eating talo and lusipi. I think the story is funny. I have heard of a giant talo. After reading the story we talk about the things we know about talo then we retell the tory in English. I have to create my own comic book using Pixton. I hope you like.

I am going to talk about how I’m spending time with my family every day during the lockdown. I’m enjoying time with my family, like my dad, mom and my three older brothers at my house in East Auckland. I eat together with my family on every meal every day. We are mostly staying in our home as a bubble and we do everything together. During the two weeks holiday we were mostly out of our house but still kept the rule of lockdown.
From the beginning of lockdown, I woke up every morning, prayed with my family as a first priority, had breakfast and then got ready my school netbook for online school and my work. We had lunch and break time so I went outside with my brothers, played soccer, biked around outside and came back inside to finish my school work until 3 o’clock. I just repeated the same routine every day from Monday to Friday. On Friday night it’s our movie and game night and then on Saturday, we do cleaning and play after dark time and dinner time. On Sunday it is a holy day for my family. We joined an online Church service and then rested for the rest of the day. Sometimes we go for a walk or a ride around in our family van and have takeaway food during the two weeks holiday of term 3. We tried new things like going for a walk nearly every day and going for a ride around during the school holiday.
I enjoy spending time with my family every day. Sometimes I was too lazy to do my school work, but my mum forced and helped me to do it. There are new things and enjoy things as well, like having every meal with my family every day. I mostly wake up late at 9am to get ready for the online class, because of the lockdown so that’s a good thing I got enough sleep. I miss my school friends playing with them but because of the Covid 19, we have to stay at home. I think I prefer learning at school face to face with my teacher, but I understand that it is for the safety of everyone in New Zealand.
This is how my lockdown was and it is still going. I am so thankful to God that me and my Dad, mom and three older brothers are still safe and well. Therefore I wish everyone well and keep safe. Blessings always.
Love

Writing a conversation by Esile
Writing a conversation
This task is about writing a conversation using speech marks.
Jack ran in the door, dropped his bag and yelled, "What's for dinner?" "Hamburgers," replied Mum. "Please set the table." "That's not fair," moaned Jack, "because I did it yesterday." "Well life isn't always fair," answered Mum |
In the box below write a short conversation that two friends might have at lunchtime.
Remember to use all the punctuation needed when someone is speaking, as shown in the example above. Each friend needs to speak at least two times
Esile and Joseph ran outside their classroom doors, they met up with each other and Esile asked “what do you have for lunch Joseph”, “tuna sandwich”, replied Joseph. He then asked the same question to Esile, he replied “a chicken sandwich” then they went and played rugby. |
Lockdown birthday celebration by Esile
A special event I had with my family was 2 weeks ago, my 2 older cousins Simi and Pote had their 21st birthday party at my auntie’s house. They both had keys because it's their 21st birthday, but there was a lockdown so we had to video call family members in and out of New Zealand and. I saw my uncle from Canada and his family on the video call. The food was the best, there was butter chicken, chicken nibbles, crab salad, potato salad, and PIG. That was my favourite there weren't many kids so it got kinda boring but it was still fun and there was yum food.
